Chantal Grard's sculptures deal with something essential... they refer to what origins and embryonic growth are, they are different, simply different and yet give the impression of expressing something that seems familiar and yet turns out to be strange.

It seems no exaggeration to say that the artist spontaneously and seemingly naturally conceived and developed her own visual language, which is closely linked to her personality, to her view of physicality in general and of the phenomenon of man in particular. The curious thing about this is that the striking visual language that characterises her oeuvre was present from the very beginning of her creativity, even when she worked in a distinctly figurative manner.

The forms she is currently creating have no name yet. They represent growth, inwardness, repetition, convex rhythm that turns into tangle, continuation culminating in a (provisional) point, concatenation of what can be described as free forms. 

They are sources of wonder and illustrate, in even more inimitable ways, the rare genuine innovation that characterises contemporary spatial creation.
